Does anyone else have this book? I have made three cookies now and todays fiasco was Cream-Filled Chocolate Sandwiches. They are horrible. The cookie portion is ok, but I have had better and the filling, yuck. Butter, shortening and powdered sugar. I guess I should of looked for a better filling and maybe they would have been ok, but I think this book is on the chopping block.......

I just remembered that there was an Oreo thread a short time ago that would have greatly helped me, "if I only had a brain"....

Personally, I would not look to Martha for recipes. Décor and organization and gardening, yes, but not for cooking - I just think there are far better sources.

Worst cake I ever made was a Martha Stewart one. The frosting was like barely sweetened butter, and the overly complicated filling was just nasty.

I think her recipes (especially baking) were better before she went to jail. I wonder if the cookie cookbook was published before or after jail.

It looks like the book was published in 2008. I'm going to give it one more try, Pear, Pistachio, and Ginger Blondies......we'll see.....
