In honor of the 75th anniversary of Pepperidge Farm, Serious Eats went through and tasted every single different variety of cookie they now make: http://sweets.seriouseats.com/2012/09/p ... okies.html

I remember these from my childhood in Cleveland; before the return of neighborhood bakeries, Pepperidge Farm cookies were as gourmet as it got. Now they seem a bit shopworn, but they still beat out the collected products of Nabisco in my book.

So, what's your favorite Pepperidge Farm cookie? If "other", put your favorite in the comments.

My favorite was their Chocolate Brownie Nut Cookies, which of course, they discontinued. They were so freakin' good. I also loved their Lemon Nut Crunch Cookies, which they also discontinued. I'm not wild about any of their flavors.

I voted for Chessmen, because I do love them, but Brussels are a very close second.

(Raising my hand) Why is there an expiration date on Pepperidge Farm Cookies? Is that a joke? Do you think there is a pkg. somewhere in the universe, still full of cookies that went past the expiry date? Should it exist, would it matter?
