My father-in-law passed away this past Saturday and, when I saw this recipe posted on facebook (by Sabine from the other board), I knew I had to make it in his honor. http://www.kingarthurflour.com/blog/201 ... e-of-life/

It is a nice mix of flavors and the symbolism is perfect.

Mary, I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law. The bread is gorgeous. I hope it smells and tastes as comforting as it looks.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. The bread was lovely, I think it smelled better than it looked. I think we have been on a our carbohydrate and alcohol diet this week.

My condolences for your loss. Sometimes, the only thing that will assuage pain is food. Good smelling food.
