In the linked article, WSJ is discussing a trend toward "savory" cupcakes. This is an excerpt from the article:
Quote:
Chefs are seeing success with savory cupcake experiments, including individual lasagna cupcakes that began as individual mac-and-cheese servings at a children's party

[rant]This is one of those things that drives me crazy - just because you make it in a cupcake tin or make an individual portion DOES NOT MAKE IT A CUPCAKE!

This kind of "nomenclature misappropriation" irritates me. Like when a TV chef makes a "vegetable carpaccio." Really? [/rant]

Just had to get that off my chest. :D savory cupcake article

You have to be kidding me. Would love to see the reaction at my daughter's next play date if I served "savory cupcakes" instead of the old-fashioned variety.

"But, children, these are so trendy," (said in my best schoolmarm voice).

And if four people walk in, sing a round of "Just because you made it in a muffin pan, doesn't make it a cupcake" and walk out, that would be a movement. The anti-stupid names of stuff movement.
So just for it to coma around here on the guitar.... :)
