I don't believe I've ever had a whoopie pie.

I looked at the frosting recipe...it will thaw just fine. Just use your mixer to lighten it once it thaws.

Thanks Amy!
Whoopie pies are, to me, like devil dogs. But with no chemical aftertaste. Love them and the CC recipe for the cake is the one I use.

I've never had a whoopie pie either. Always thought they were those gas station Hostess things that came individually wrapped. Had one of those type things once and it way way too sweet and weird. Are they better?

The frosting recipe looked good, so I've saved it to my LC. Seems easier than my favorite Crispy Magic Frosting from Flour.

Hi Alina, they are not too sweet, well, at least these are not. Drakes Cakes Devil Dogs aren't sweet either though, I've never had the indiviually wrapped whoopie pies for sale, first time I saw them was only last month in Indiana or Michigan at a gas station but I didn't buy them. Hardly anyone in Canada knows what a whoopie pie is.
The frosting was super super easy. I keep meaning to make them with the boiled icing but never have and honestly now I'd stick with this one. I liked that it was very light in texture and not too sweet.
