Does anyone remember a frozen hazelnut dessert that they used to advertise in the '70's? My memory is sketchy about it. I think it was mostly advertised around the holidays and it looked very fancy -- lots of piped scrolly flourishes. I remember it as being a torte-type thing with crispy layers and creamy, hazelnut layers. It was in a loaf-shape. My mom and dad both remember it, but can't remember what it was called. It's driving me bats for no particular reason.

It's a marjolane. They are wonderful, and not that hard to make, they just take a bit of fiddling.

By George, I think you've got it. I may have to try one. Maybe, if I "accidentally" buy too many hazelnuts for Xmas this year...
