try the recipe over at Smitten Kitchen. It's pretty much the regular RK bar recipe with more butter perhaps. Basically, you use unsalted butter and cook to a deep brown, add mallows, melt, add RK's and sea salt. Yum. Salted Brown Butter RK Bars! Recipe, credits and commentary is over at Smitten Kitchen (sorry, I don't know how to do links).

I just made Rice Krispie treats tonight. I haven't made these in years. Delicious.

I might have to try those - I have some RK that aren't getting any fresher.

I also like to make Scotcheroos - replace butter and marshmallows with peanut butter. Then melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips and spread over the top. My mom still makes these for me when I come to visit :P

Thanks Kathy, I didn't know it was so easy.

I love Scotcheroos too - haven't made them in many years. I think the recipe I have uses corn syrup with the p'nut butter. Love that mixture of butterscotch and choc chips.
