Have you seen this recipe from Lucky Peach? All the ingredients seem pretty ordinary, do you think the addition of saffron would really raise it over the top? |

It would be difficult for me to think of a recipe in which saffron wouldn't raise it up over the top... |

Linda, I'd try it. But based on experience, I'd parcook the potato slices in the nuke, and reduce cooking time to 1 hour. I've found that raw potato often never cooks through in the center of a scallop. |

My saffron has been in the freezer foryears. Do you think it's still has flavor? |

I've been using the same box of saffron (stored in the freezer) for 15 years now. Pinch a little and sniff it. If it has scent, it has flavor. |
