I have a craving for Rugelach. It's been years since I made this cookie. I remember using CI and Rose Beranbaum's recipe and it was good. Has anyone tried Ina Garten's recipe? I was hoping to use chocolate in the filling. Thanks for you help!

Lu :)

I use my mother's quasi recipe....dough is same as Ina's, but my mother rolled out the dough using powdered sugar instead of flour and it makes a melt in your mouth sweet dough. She did not use any filling other than cinnamon, sugar and chopped walnuts.

I have one in a Canadian Living cookbook, have not been able to find it online though. If you pm me your email I will scan and send. I've not made it, but their recipes are generally bulletproof.

I use Ina's. It is the only one I've found as good as my mil. I love her dough it is super easy to make and forgiving. I use apricots and pecans instead of raisins and walnuts and use Sugar in the Raw at the end. Now you have me wanting to make some. Let me know if you need me to post the recipe.

I've made it using Scandinavian Delights Raspberry Spread and walnuts. Delicious.
