I won the Bays English Muffin Contest! Thanks for all your support. Any ideas what I should spend my $500 at Williams-Sonoma on?

Congrats!!!

I love Bays and cannot wait for the April 15th official announcement!!

$500.00 at W.S. may get you a really nice vegetable peeler or such..

Time to inventory your small appliances & cookware.

Hi Lindsay,
Congratulations! I just found out because I'm on the Bays email list (pathetic, I know). I just love those English Muffins and have been buying them for years, long before CI rated them so highly!

cheers,
sabine

PS: Not so sure I'll be yelling "OOPAH" though!

Surprising what you'll do for a $500 gift certificate from WS!

Thanks to everyone. I upgraded my KitchenAid to a profession 610--the olds, smaller one was fine, but it was having a bit of a problem with some of the heavier bread doughs. Not enough to have justified the investment (if it had been my money), but I love the new one. And having broken my last garlic press, I invested in a $40 Kuhn Rikon press that's great -- really easy to clean. Again, something I never would have spent the money on. Topped it all off with kitchen towels. Best $2.60 I ever spent. This could get addictive.

Lindsay,
I remember feeling all pumped up about cooking contests after reading Amy Sutherland's Cookoff book (can't remember the exact title, but it was a behind the scenes look at national cooking contests from a former Portland Press Herald reporter here in Maine). For weeks afterwards, I looked at food in a new way and found myself thinking of ways to innovate with food and appeal to a wide audience. I didn't have the discipline to write anything down in a repeatable fashion, so I doubt I'll be entering any contests soon!
