Actually Frank, it was Marilyn who gave you that nut chopper. She gave all of us one when we had our meetup in San Antonio. Sunny is very generous and gracious (and I speak from experience), but wanted to make sure Marilyn got her due. (And, it's one of the few "one trick pony" gadgets I love. Really does what it's supposed to do.)

One of my favorite gadgets. I found it on my own, but pay tribute to Marilyn nonetheless. Amazing toffee!

I was at Sams Club on Saturday and they had Pecan Pieces for $7.49 lb. If you have a Sam's nearby and you plan on making Toffee, this is a pretty good price.

The problem with "pieces" is that they do not toast evenly due to varied sizes. I use halves for that reason.

*sigh* It's been so long since I poked my head in here, I just spent 25 minutes reading this entire thread (just to find the recipe). Frank! You are *crazy* to make so much! My husband told me he needs 52 "boxes" (we used to do beautifully packaged 3"-square boxes of cookies for gifts) and I nearly cried. It was easier before I had a baby! ;) Anyway…I thought of Marilyn's toffee and popped by to snag the recipe. If you can do 200 lb, I can give it a try! :D

Sorry, too busy talking folks into the purchase of counter-top ovens and mandolins. You know enabling comes first. ;)
