Irene,
That sounds similar to something we had there... those "pancake" things that were really ultra thin breads. Might have to give that a go this week. Thanks!

Happened to catch a No Reservations episode from Istanbul on the TiVo today.

How do I get a fixer when I travel? Bourdain always has such good fixers...

I just watched it on TV shack... thanks Pete! So much food and so little time!

We had a couple fixers, a friend of a friend who lives there, our guide Mahir and the people at the hotel were great. Also my friend Anne who did our reservations did a great job finding restaurants.

I'll have to see if I can catch that episode. The big question, though, is whether or not Adam the server is in it.

Sadly not. If you watch the show you will see that Anthony eats a big Turkish breakfast. We skipped that for coffee with Adam. The boy is a national treasure.

Ilene, Mary,

I have a bunch of Turkish recipes. For those who were at the meetup in Cleveland, the bulgar pilaf I made was very Turkish.

Also, there's Daughter-in-law soup. According to my relatives, the Turkish are all about soups.

Thanks! I have Turkish store in my town, I will have to look for the Allepo pepper. I do have some pepper I bought there, it is like a course flaked paprika. Is that it?
