Actually when I read all the way through the link that Bill posted, someone commented that potatoes would need to be stored in the fridge for a very, very long time in order for the cold to affect texture, etc. So I'm wondering if that option might be worth a try. I don't buy huge bags of spuds so typically would go through them in less than a month. Anyone tried that before? Emilie |

yes, Emile, I store mine there in the warm months if I''m keeping them for a longer time. I just took some Yukon golds out for dinner that have been there for a month or so and they look perfect. My red bliss I keep there because I often buy a 5 lb. bag that I can't use up for a while In cooler wx I just store in the garage as it's fairly cool there and I can save fridge space. ETA, I actually have a harder time storing [i]sweet[i] potatoes, they seem to spoil faster. |

Sadly, I store my potatoes in the refrigerator. My house is almost always close to 80 degrees and they just go bad too quickly no matter how dark the closet I store them in. --Lisa |
