Oh, I think that's nationwide. However, in CA, all sugar at most markets is labelled "cane sugar". It's possible that beet sugar is available as generic sugar at the super-discount markets; I haven't looked. |

It could be a "thing" in health food stores simply because it is vegan. Beet sugar, I mean. It doesn't need to be treated with bone char to whiten it. |
