I'll be a bit of a contrarian - my 25-year-old bread machine is a Panasonic. It has a yeast dispenser in the top so it works by mixing all of the ingredients short of the yeast for 20 minutes and then letting the un-yeasted dough sit until the right time and then mixing in the yeast and letting it rise. IME letting the dough sit for a few hours before rising and baking leads to better results - at least in my old machine.

I'd give preference to a machine with this feature. Looks like this is the current equivalent of my machine: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-SD-YD25 ... 00005QFL0/
