Has anybody used the KAF boiled cider in any recipes? Has anybody ever made this syrup with Apple Cider? I was thinking about making the KAF Apple Cider Caramels and it calls for Boiled Cider. According to the recipe I found, it takes 4 cups of cider reduced to make a 1/2 cup of boiled cider.

I have a bottle but have not used it yet. I will be interested to see how you like the caramels.

Sounds about right. I have about a cup that I boiled down from a half gallon of cider, though you can get away with a bit less of a reduction.

Boiled cider will keep in the fridge until you use it up. A tablespoon or two will improve any apple dessert if the apples are not quite perfect.

Do not, under any circumstances, mix it with maple syrup and melted butter for Sunday morning pancakes.

Do I detect some sarcasm here?

Sarcasm? Moi? If you reduce the charge to ironing, I will consider copping a plea.

Well, if it's reduced to ironing I suggest a sentence of doing all of mine once a week.

Like Alina, I have a bottle that hasn't yet been opened. And I think it's several years old. Can't even remember what my purpose was for ordering it in the first place. Must've been for some kind of apple dessert.

This past weekend I used the last of a bottle of KAF boiled cider and opened a new one (I always keep one in the pantry). Just a bit takes almost any autumn dessert over the top, plus I never have to buy apple cider for recipes. 1 T. of boiled cider to 3/4 cup water and voila, apple cider. Otherwise a lot of the time I'd be wasting the rest of a half gallon jug of the stuff. Plus, it lasts forever in the fridge. So it's a great ingredient in my book!
