Dave,

Sadly, while it's completely possible for me to buy fresh-locally-made, delivered-6-days-a-week tortillas in San Francisco, the closest place to do so is a 40min bus ride away. So timewise, it probably pays for me to make my own most of the time. Besides, if I can make tortillas, I can make papusas too (yum, papusas!).

Another one of those sealed ones I still use mine for!

Some Whole Foods stores have fresh ones.... (well, ones I visited in Texas, which admittedly probably has different requirements).

But, will they give you the box the tortillas came in?

Nah, you have to buy a tortilla bag. Much like a wine bag but imprinted with colorful sombreros.

The tortilla factory in Avondale (even farther from me than the place Fuzzy described) used to give me a box when I would buy twenty 20 oz bags of tortillas. I discovered back then, they do freeze well, but I'm really glad that I can buy them locally.now!
