Taste it very carefully, then store it away until the girls are old enough to have it foisted upon them as a "special drink" as they become adults.

Ah yes, it just so happens I have a bottle of this in my liquor cabinet - - - way at the back of the liquor cabinet :!: :lol: :o
I will now have egg on my face since I have already sent him an email asking for suggestions; he will slice & dice me with no forgiveness.
Vile is not too strong a word... :twisted: Go chew on the end of a sappy pine tree for awhile; that's pretty close.
Our 'friends' try to serve this to us at the end of yet another night of excessiveness. They euphamistically call it 'Roof' as it is served, at that point of the meal, poured gently atop a cup of very strong black coffee. They were successful the first time, not subsequently. :roll:
My recommendation is to re-gift it, preferably to those just learning the pleasures of the demon.

Frank, Wino:

Nah, just move it to the medicine cabinet!

"Black Balsam is also used in traditional medicine. It is considered to be a good cold remedy and is used to treat digestive problems."

Black Balsam == Nyquil ;-)

The description reminded me of Fernet (which my aunt carries in a flask in her purse on all the women's trips....just in case someone has heartburn or another digestive ailment) and I found this:

Fuzzy, apparently this is popular, outside of Italy, in Agentina and San Francisco. :) :o

Jean, I liked this one quote from your post:

"This is one taste I cannot acquire, even after having bought a bottle. A drink should not taste this bad."

Josh...Nyquil = Baptist Toddy.. 8-) :lol:
