It made me curious so I looked it up. I guess chicory is a popular additive to/substitute for coffee in the mediterranean.

Blackstrap are rec. pregnant women with low iron. I love molasses. Actually sorghum, which is a little milder; it's one of those ingredients I can't Just use, I gotta have a spoonful before I put it up. Mary, they are made locally, when season rolls around(aug/sept) I would be happy to send a pint or quart.

Commonly used here as a breakfast treat with biscuits :mrgreen: : use recipe, dollop butter in, slather over biscuit.
