So far, I like it better than the Food Network because the shows have all been "cooking" shows (although they are not the best quality) and some have been earlier versions of the FN shows....so far, they are staying away from games, challenges and entertainment related to food and I see that as a plus.

Did you notice that "Food Detectives" is in the lineup? I did...

On the brighter side, there's an hour of "Two Fat Ladies" Saturday at 10 PM Eastern.

I really enjoyed the "Two Fat Ladies". I'd forgotten them. I have a very interesting book by the surviving lady about food, of course. Not a cookbook but a good read.

And I watched a episode of "Entertaining with Julia" yesterday....it doesn't get any better. I am glad that they are mixing classic old cooking shows in with their new shows, although the Galloping Gourmet show did not hold up well with age.

They are showing old episodes of Julia & Company, Two Fat Ladies, & The Galloping Gourmet. They also heave some things that were only previously available in Canada, that we now get to see. Maybe they'll be good.

I'm disappointed to see they're using old RR Vacations & Food Detectives. On balance, though, it may be an improvement over FN, at least for a while. I still think PBS and some of the other cable stations are doing a good job.

I for one got my fill of Giada years ago. I turned Cooking Channel on 3 times yesterday and it was Giada Giada Giada! I would like to see the French Food show but I missed it and guess it's only on once or twice a week. I'm looking forward to the Fat Ladies tonight.
