Well, I thought it might be interesting, but I'm ambivalent. It doesn't seem to be a competition, which I like. Some of the chosen students seem like a poor choice. Having told the group that they each had one hour to prepare a dish they loved, the students were not issued jackets, aprons or hats, were given no info on sanitation and were set loose. When one plate had a hair in it the chef acted like he had been personally assaulted. And he refused an other plate of the same dish. At least by the next episode it looks like the clothing has be dealt with. I really don't like teachers who show how tough they are by dropping plates on the floor. Makes it hard to show what you've done wrong and encourages the chef-tantrum behavior Ramsey has made famous. If it stays non-competitive then it might work out. But the chef might be more of a jackass the he seems at the moment. Anyone else see this? BeckyH |
