It's been years since I have had a cable package that included The Food Channel. About a year ago I dropped Charter altogether and used an Antenna. Two weeks ago I signed up for Direct TV and now I get over 130 channels. What amazes me is with all those channels, there is still nothing to watch. The Food Channels is mostly game shows now. I do like Chopped. What other shows should I be looking for that is just about cooking and not game show oriented?

Don;t watch that channel much but I do like Ann Burrell and Tyler Florence. Probably more popular are Ina Garten and Giada.

Do you get the "Create" channel? that's what I watch most often for cooking. They run the old Julia Child & Jacques Pepin shows along with Sara Moulton and Lidia Bastianich who seems to be on 24/7. Also Cooks Country, ATK and Martha's Cooking School. Create runs a lot of old PBS shows including This Old House and several gardening shows.

Cooking Channel has some interesting shows. French Food at Home is my favorite but off the top of my head I couldn't give you any others.

I do get the Create Channel and it is what I have been watching for the last year or so. My antenna would only receive about 4 channels and that was one of them. It seems that most of the shows are repeats for me.

Not about cooking, but if you get BBC America, I find Orphan Black fascinating. Fine Cooking has a PBS show called Moevable Feast I believe. I occassionally watch the Saturday and Sunday morning shows on Food channel. That's when most of the non-reality shows seem to be screened. And of course Iron Chef on Sundays.

I have watched the first two episodes of America's Best Cook. I have it set to record. I have also watched Kitchen Casino and Cutthroat kitchen. I am not a fan of either of these shows.

Cooking shows make me hungry which is particularly bothersome when I'm on the arc trainer at the gym!

Funny, I watch Mad Men repeats on cable on Sunday mornings....I often have to go and mix myself a Bloody Mary, their drinking is contagious.

I don't watch much of the Food network any more....so many of the shows are reality/game shows which just don't interest me. I still watch some of the Cooking Channel Shows. I really don't like what the Food Network has become.
