I am a huge Dr. Who fan. I've been streaming the old ones since they are free from Amazon. I am about halfway on season 4. It is fun to watch the old seasons all at once again. I can't wait for the Christmas special. Love Downton Abbey as well, looking forward to the new season and I am really enjoying the Upstairs Downstairs reboot. |

It airs on ITV in the UK: http://www.itv.com/downtonabbey/ But you can only watch online if you're connecting in the UK. The one way that I'm aware of is to pay a provider to give you access to a proxy server so you appear to be connecting from within the UK. That and torrents (I don't do torrents...). |

I loved Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant as Dr. Who. We have all 4 1/2 seasons on DVD and have watched them twice. My sweetie was a big Torchwood fan, but I couldn't get into it. Too soap-opera. I feel like the shows with Matt Smith have suffered from slipshod writing, weak direction and indecisive acting. This isn't Matt Smith's fault as much as it is Stephen Moffitt's (Stephen spent all his mental energy on Sherlock and pretty much "phoned it in" for Dr. Who), but that still makes them not worth watching. |

I really enjoy watching Matt Smith, but do agree about the writing. I still think Rose Tyler is the best companion, so the first ones are still my faves. I loved Torchwood, then again I love anything with John Barrowman in it (will now be watching Arrow). I agree with the fun of discussing, but heck, I'd watch it twice. We watch everything on DVR and get the Eastern feeds so I am accustomed to not discussing. |
