It's one of the few shows I watch on FN these days, even though I really can't see myself making any of the food. I don't think anyone could sustain on her cooking unless they were ranchers....it's not for the office worker who drives a desk all day. It's great scenery though and she's so down to earth. I still hold to the idea that if I was going to need an accomplice that she'd be a great one to have.

I have such an incredibly different reaction to her. I cannot stand to watch her...makes my skin crawl. I've never seen her show, but I've seen her on the Today Show, and there is just something about her that irritates the heck out of me.

I'm with Amy on this one. I have attempted to watch a few times but haven't been able to get thru watching one entire show.

I find her fake. She talks about being a "rancher's wife" but in reality, she has an entire separate studio kitchen building on their vast property for filming. She's a debutante, and I don't think she actually eats any of that high fat / high calorie food she cooks when the cameras are not on. I don't actually object to the food - and she has some tasty recipes -but I feel like she is projecting something that she is not (as is most of show business, I get it).

I kinda think that owning 433,000 acres might just qualify her as a "Ranchers Wife" (Albeit not a "common" Ranchers wife)

Reminds me of a sign I saw once on a Ranch gate that said "No Trespassing"..."I own a gun and a backhoe" :shock:

I think your observation is good...a desk jockey would weigh 800 lbs if they ate the way she cooks.

I like her and I'd give anything to live on that ranch. Guess I'm just a cowgirl at heart.

I've only made a few of her recipes. Can't remember what they were but we enjoyed them. One of her recipes, French Breakfast Puffs, is a favourite of my grandsons and they request them all the time. Good old girl that I am, I oblige them.

I'm just jealous that they can eat all that food and stay slim and attractive. I'll admit it, I kinda want a Marlboro man too. Sadly, if I decided to quit my job, home school my cat, and blog about it, I'd end up institutionalized rather than on the food network.
