Just watched it, loved, am going to start a fan club. I think I disagree about people's ability to change though. It takes time and effort BUT... do you wear a seat belt, do you smoke, do you know gay people who are open about their relationships, is there a black president? Bit by tiny bit. Before you know it a certain someone will be saying, "well, a few beans in there aren't too bad."

SOME things will never change  ...but regarding people's habits, I see your point. It's a slow fight to be sure. I think my pessimism stems from working in an office where we see the worst in people (tax cheats, pedophiles, drug traffickers, etc.). It bleeds over to my overal outlook on the human race.

Another problem is that there is a huge lobby in Big Agribusiness getting things passed like no labeling of the ammonia in ground beef...but of course many people thought Big Tobacco would never fall either. Maybe there is hope.

Have you seen the TV ads saying "sugar is sugar, whether it comes from cane, beets or corn"?

I watched this and am appalled at what these kids are eating. It's no wonder we are such an obese nation.

Like many (if not most) of you, I grind all of my own meat. It's the only way I know what I'm eating.

I get the butchers to grind my meat but I think most of the meat is ground in-store and I am sure they are not allowed to put that stuff in. I don't know about pre-made products though. I know the chicken nugget chicken meat is labeled differently if it is "processed". Blech.

Most kids don't have lunch in school here and the lunch programs they do start (usually independent of the school and can be paid on a sliding scale) are proper, nutritious meals and, GUESS WHAT, the kids eat the food because that is what is served. They may not like every single thing but, GUESS WHAT, that is OK.

Have I mentioned that I have a thing for Jamie?

It's not?

I thought the only problem with corn syrup was that you tend to eat a lot of it because it's not as sweet. I mean, it's not like eating a cup a day of Diamond Crystal would be exactly good for you, either.
